Implants in the teeth

Osseointegration: An implant connects with the jawbone over time through a process termed implantation, creating a stable base for an artificial tooth.

Crown Attachment: After the dentist from DentoXpert has secured the implant to the bone, a custom-made crown that is identical in appearance and function to a natural tooth is fastened to the implant.

Longevity: The dentist at DentoXpert in Hiranandani Estate, Thane, guarantees that implants in the jaw are a long-lasting tooth replacement solution that, with proper care and maintenance, will last a lifetime.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

1. ROOT CANAL TREATMENT with DentoXpert's Dentist in Hiranandani Estate, THANE

When is a root canal treatment (RCT) done?

• When the nerve of the tooth is already infected or when the decay is very close to the nerve, the root canal surgery is performed.

• It is also carried out if the tooth has become discolored as a result of trauma that killed the nerve in the tooth.

The root canal is basically salvaging the tooth, which has been infected.

2. How is a ROOT canal procedure done by DentoXpert's Dentist in Hiranandani Estate, THANE?

Depending on the degree of decay and the spread of infection, root canal procedures at Hiranandani Estatecan be completed in a single sitting or over the course of several visits. Even the patients' participation and time availability must be taken into account.

• The initial step would be to eliminate all of the tooth decay and gain access to the tooth's canals.

• Cleaning and disinfecting the affected area is the next step. The tools used are known as files. These files can be operated either manually or by rotary equipment.

• The third step entails filling the empty space left by the infected nerve in Hiranandani Estatewith a biocompatible substance called gutta percha with the assistance of DentoXpert's dentist.

3. These are the steps for a root canal treatment. After the root canal is over, the tooth is filled with either a composite (tooth-colored filling) or a silver filling.

DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane shapes the teeth after filling it so that it can hold a cap.

Because so much dental structure has been lost to disease, a cap must be worn after root canal therapy. As a result, the tooth becomes fragile and prone to breaking.

Therefore, if a tooth is not covered, there is a danger that the filling or the tooth could break while you are eating.

• Capping will enable you to utilize your root canal-treated tooth normally.

• Biting and chewing would be efficient.

• ESTIMATICS WOULD BE RESTORED.

Dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane, DENTOXPERT, CAN HELP WITH PAIN FACTOR IN ROOT CANAL.

• In the past, root canals were thought to be quite painful. However, new tools and methods have made root canals obsolete.

REPLACE  A  MISSING  TOOTH

1. Why REPLACE  A  MISSING  TOOTH  is explained by DentoXpert's Dentist which located in Hiranandani Estate, Thane

Did you have your tooth extracted or removed because it was in excruciating pain, was moving around, or was severely damaged and broken?

Since the problematic tooth has been extracted, we typically feel as though our work is done and our dental issues have been resolved. But we fail to comprehend that replacing the lost tooth is the most crucial step following tooth extraction.

Let Dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane tell you why a missing tooth should be replaced.

missing tooth recovery

1.            Function: Some of the functions of our teeth are

In order to chew food

· To eat something.

• To facilitate appropriate speaking and pronunciation

• To support the cheek and lip muscles

• Your front teeth help you smile attractively.

The harmony between our teeth is destroyed when teeth are missing and not replaced, which compromises the aforementioned functions.

2.         Shifting: Our teeth act as excellent space maintainers.

Our teeth tend to migrate into an empty spot when one tooth is gone. The teeth next to the lost tooth will move or drift in the direction of the vacant gap. These teeth have gaps between them because they have moved from their original place. But because this changing happens so gradually, it frequently goes unreported.

3.         DECAY: Food gets stuck between the teeth as a result of the gaps that have been made and the shifting of the neighboring teeth. Cleaning up this food lodgement is challenging. Finally, this causes tooth decay.

4.         GUM PROBLEMS: Because of continuous food lodgement, gums become inflamed. Pocket formation occurs between teeth and gums. There is a loss of attachment between teeth and gums. Gums tend to shift below the gum line, exposing the root surface of the tooth.

5.         Tooth loss: The opposite higher molar will gradually move downward if a lower molar is missing. It gently emerges from the jaw bone's socket. (In reality, the jaw bone holds the tooth anchored in a fixed position and prevents teeth from moving.) The bone support keeps getting less because the tooth is moving. There is no longer any bone support when the tooth is totally out of place over time. Teeth frequently tremble and eventually disappear.

6.         AESTHETICS: Our teeth give support to our cheek muscles and lips, giving us a young look. If teeth are missing, the muscles in that area sink into the missing space, giving it an old look. Also, if front teeth are missing, they are visible when smiling and talking. This affects your self-confidence.

7.         Chewing: Our back teeth perform the major function of chewing the food we WE EAT. If our back teeth are missing, then all the chewing forces come from the other teeth and surrounding bone. This hampers the health of other teeth and the jaw bone. Also, if multiple teeth are missing, efficient chewing is not possible. If food is not chewed well, it is not digested properly, and the body does not get the required nutrients. Slowly but surely, our health will suffer because of this.

8.         BONE LOSS: Over time, there is a significant loss of bone when a tooth is pulled.

The idea is that we believe our condition is resolved when a tooth is pulled. However, if this lost tooth is not replaced, we are essentially inviting ten other issues. The longer we put off getting a replacement after an extraction, the more harm will be done to healthy teeth already present, the more expensive the repair will be, and the longer it will take.

WAYS TO REPLACE A MISSING TEETH ARE:

•          A removable denture

•          A fixed bridge

•          An implant

DIABETES AND ORAL HEALTH

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder where there is increase in blood sugar level. In our body blood sugar level is controlled by insulin which is produced by pancreas which can be resolved with the help of Dentist. DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane.

Diabetes can occur either because the pancreas is not able to produce insulin or the body is not able to respond to the insulin produced .

THREE TYPES OF DIABETES which have been explained by the DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane

TYPE 1 DIABETES : (INSULIN DEPENDENT DIABETES MELLITUS)

Caused because enough insulin is not produced by the pancreas resulting in insulin deficiency . It accounts for 5 -10 % of all diabetes . It most commonly occurs in children and young adults .

The individual requires injection of insulin to be taken in order to keep blood sugar level in control.

TYPE  2 DIABETES : (NON INSULIN DEPENDENT DIABETES MELLITUS)

Caused because of decreased insulin secretion , resistance in insulin action or increased glucose production in liver. It accounts to 90 -95 % of all cases of diabetes . Adults are most commonly affected .

GESTATIONAL DIABETES : Blood sugar level increases during pregnancy .occcurs in 2 – 5 %  of all pregnancies but disappears after delivery . women having gestational diabetes during pregnancy have increased risk of having type 2 diabetes later in life.

CLASSIC SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES :

POLYURIA :INCREASED URNATION

POLYDYPSIA : INCREASED THIRST

POLYPHAGIA : INCREASED HUNGER

We are all aware that diabetes affects our kidney , eyes , heart etc. but the effect of diabetes on our teeth , gums and jaw bone (alveolar bone) is not a very well known fact .

diabetes oral heallth by dentoxpert

ORAL CHANGES IN DIABETIC PATIENT are discussed by the DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane

Saliva plays a major role in neutralizing the acids produced by the oral bacteria. This decreases the chances of decay . But in uncontrolled diabetic patient the flow of saliva is decreased (dry mouth) hence chances of tooth decay increases.

Wound  healing is impaired because blood flow is compromised in diabetes . hence after any dental procedure like extraction ,flap surgery etc .wound healing is quite delayed. Because of poor blood supply and wound healing dental implants are avoided in diabetic patient.

If a person is diabetic and smoker then this combination will make the wound healing worse because even in a smoker blood flow is compromised.

Drying and cracking of oral mucosa is observed.

ANGULAR CHELITIS: it is a bacterial or fungal infection causing inflammation of corner of lip

Burning of mouth and tongue

Candidiasis : fungal infection of mouth and tongue caused by candida albicans

(WRITE ABOUT GINGIVITI)

Periodontitis will cause loss of attachment between gums  and teeth , increased gum bleeding leading pocket formation  (pockets are spaces created between gums and teeth causing more food lodgement

Gradually there is  bone loss (i.e. the bone that holds the tooth in place gets infected and starts to reduce)

LOSS OF BONE , POCKET FORMATION AND BONE LOSS LEADS TO MOBILITY (LOOSENING) OF TEETH ND THEY EVENTUALLY FALL OFF .

STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT DIABETES DOE NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE GINGIVITIS OR PERIODONTITIS.

But in uncontrolled diabetes the defence mechanism of the body is compromised and so the susceptibility of infection increases . Hence the body is not able to fight against the local factors that gingivitis or periodontitis .

HOWEVER IF DIABETES IS WELL CONTROLLED ALL THESE CHANGES WILL NOT BE SEEN THE ORAL MUCOSA WILL BE NORMAL , DEFENCE MECHANISM WILL BE GOOD AND THERE WILL BE NO INCREASE IN CHANCES OF TOOTH DECAY.

PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT can be done by DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane is explained below

A diabetic person should take more care of the oral cavity because they are more susceptible to tooth and gum problems . The  best way to avoid oral health problems is to keep a check on blood sugar level

You can do this with medication , daily exercise and diet control .

Visit your dentist every 4 – 6 months for a regular check up and scaling

Brush twice daily using the right brushing technique

Floss between teeth and use mouthwash

If ant dental procedure like extraction (removal of tooth) or gum surgery has to be carried out your dentist will tell you to check your blood sugar levels. Both fasting and post lunch sugar levels  should be checked.

Show your dentist the sugar reports and also the medications you are already taking.

After any surgical procedure meticulous oral hygiene has to be maintained.

If you are a smoker quit the habit now

DIASTEMA   (SPACE BETWEEN TEETH)

8

A  diastema is a gap or space between 2 teeth. It is commonly seen between upper front teeth (upper incisors)   .

CAUSES are mentioned by the DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane –

It is commonly seen in children during development and usually gets corrected on its own  .

The main cause of diastema is because of discrepancy between jaw size and tooth size.

It can also be due a high labial frenum (frenum is a tissue that connects the lips and the gums which is visible when you lift your lips upwards )  If frenum is placed between the two teeth it causes space between the upper teeth

If the individual has a habit of thumb sucking and tongue thrusting    (tongue thrusting is a habit of placing the tongue forward between upper front teeth ). These   habits cause pushing of upper front teeth causing a space.

In some cases diastema can be because  an impacted extra tooth present in between upper front teeth

TREATMENT is done from DentoXpert's dentist in Hiranandani Estate, Thane

Usually   diastema causes no complication and does not require treatment. Treatment is done due to cosmetic reasons .

If diastema is present in permanent teeth then it can be corrected only with dental treatment.

It can be corrected with orthodontic treatment i.e. putting braces. But most the time diastema can recur after braces are removed . So after treatment retainers should be used to avoid movement of teeth back  to its original position.

If high labial frenum is the cause of diastema then that tissue of frenum can be removed through a procedure called frenectomy.

Diastema can also be treated by composite fillings and dental veneers.
