Extraction and implant placement in a single appointment. Walk out the same day with an implant and temporary crown — no waiting, no gap, no embarrassment.
Immediate dental implants — also called same-day implants or immediate placement implants — refer to a technique where the dental implant is placed directly into the tooth socket immediately after extraction, in the same clinical visit. In eligible cases, a temporary crown (immediate loading) is also attached the same day.
This technique shortens total treatment time dramatically. Instead of waiting 4–8 weeks for the extraction site to heal before placing an implant, the patient undergoes extraction and implant placement simultaneously — reducing the number of surgeries and the overall treatment timeline by several weeks to months.
At DentExpert Thane, immediate implants are performed with 3D CBCT-guided precision by our specialist implantologist, using premium Nobel Biocare or Straumann implants engineered for immediate placement protocols.
Immediate Placement, Delayed Loading: Implant placed at time of extraction. Crown placed 3–6 weeks later once primary stability is confirmed. Most common immediate implant approach.
Immediate Placement & Loading: Implant placed AND provisional crown attached on the same day. Requires excellent primary stability (≥35 Ncm torque). Ideal for front teeth.
Delayed Placement, Immediate Loading: Implant placed after 4–8 weeks of socket healing. Final or provisional crown attached immediately on the day of implant placement.
Not every patient is automatically suitable for immediate implants. Our specialist evaluates multiple clinical factors before recommending immediate placement:
Extract & implant in one visit — reduces number of clinical appointments needed.
Reduces total treatment timeline by 4–8 weeks compared to conventional protocols.
Temporary crown placed same day maintains aesthetic appearance and prevents social embarrassment.
Immediate implant placement prevents the bone resorption that occurs after tooth extraction.
One combined procedure instead of two separate surgeries — faster recovery overall.
Literature documents 97%+ success rate for immediate implants with proper patient selection and surgical technique.
Following an immediate implant procedure, adherence to aftercare instructions is critical for successful osseointegration:
